QUIZ ON RAOD SAFETY IN DAV INTERNATIONAL

Guest and Dignities at DAV International Amritsar


Amritsar, Harshprateek: Under the aegis of Sahodaya Schools Complex, On February 8, 2019, a quiz competition as a part of 30th Road Safety Week Celebration was organized by Traffic Police Amritsar under the able stewardship of Principal Dr. Anjana Gupta. On this occasion, Sardar Amrik Singh Pawar (DCP, Amritsar) was the Chief Guest. Sardar Dilbag Singh (ADCP, Traffic Police), Dr. Mehtab Singh (IPS), Sardar Paramjit Singh (Inspector, Traffic Police) and Sh. Neeraj Kumar (SHO, Verka) were also present.


Principal Anjana Gupta Honour Dignities

Principal Dr. Anjana Gupta accorded a floral welcome to the distinguished guests.
In her address to the present gathering, she said that the various means of transport are
the gift of science which have made human life very comfortable. But due to negligent
attitude, this gift is becoming a curse for humanity at large. She urged that everyone
should follow the Traffic Rules and let this gift of science remain a blessing only.
Chief Guest Sardar Amrik Singh, while talking to the audience, familiarized them with
the various Road Safety rules & regulations like – Always be on the right while driving,
use a helmet while riding on a two-wheeler & use a seat belt while driving a car, keep a
check on the speed limit and no use of mobile while driving.
Award Ceremony 
On this occasion, students from 13 different schools of the city participated in the Quiz
competition. Student of the host schools presented a role play highlighting the
significance of Traffic Safety Rules which will help to reduce the number of road
accidents. A folk song depicting the Punjabi culture was also presented by the students.
Sardar Paramjit Singh expressed his gratitude to the school authorities, staff & students
for being a part of this awareness programme and also threw light on the fine imposed
in case of breaking the Road Safety Rules. He showed a deep sense of concern that
95% of the Indians don’t follow these rules. He also emphasized on the drive need to
keep all the papers related to the two or four-wheelers complete and availability of First
Aid Kit in the vehicle.
In the quiz competition students of Sri Guru Harkrishan Public School, Majitha Road
Stood Ist; Ashok Vatika School stood 2nd and Holy Heart Presidency got 3rd Position.
The students of Sri Ram Ashram Public School got the consolation prize. The winners
were awarded appreciation certificates. They will be formally awarded prizes on
11th February at a function to be organized at Madhav Vidya Niketan.
The Programme concluded with the chanting of National Anthem.
