Experts say that diabetes patients should watch the glycemic index of the nutrient-heavy fruit, but don’t have to skip it completely.

Mangoes tend to have a low glycemic index, and contain fructose and glucose. Your body is able to digest both well.
The averages in glycemic index studies of mangoes ranged between 41 to 60, with an average of 51. The value of 51 is on the lower end of the glycemic index scale. Mangoes do raise blood sugar but appear to raise your sugar level at a slower speed giving your body more time to process the sugar properly.
Mangoes are one of the best things about the Indian summer and are rich in flavour as well as health benefits. A cup of mango has about 100 calories, no fat and 25 grams of carbohydrates. It has almost no sodium and about 3 grams of fibre.
